Detailed Itinerary of The Great Wildebeest Migration Safari
Day 1: Arrive at Nairobi, Kenya
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver-guide who will transfer you to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay.
Accommodation: Tamarind Tree Hotel

Day 2 – 3: Amboseli National Park | An African Elephant Haven
After your delicious breakfast, you will depart for Amboseli National Park arriving in time for check-in and lunch at your lodge. Then spend the afternoon at leisure before going for an evening game drive or a guided tour and camel ride with in the park till dusk when you return to your lodge.
The next day, you will spend the whole day in Amboseli National Park with both morning and evening game drives. In between, you will have an option of visiting local Maasai villages for a chance to interact and learn about their colorful culture of this nomadic pastoralist community.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National park | Home to The Tree Climbing Lions
After breakfast, you will depart for Namanga Border, the Eastern Kenya/ Tanzania border where after the cross-border formalities, you will proceed with a drive to Lake Manyara with a brief stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Arusha and continue to Lake Manyara National Park and arrive in time for an evening game drive around the lake till late. Then head to your lodge in Karatu Town for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Area
After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater – the 8th Wonder of the World, a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Ngorongoro Crater also known as Africa’s Garden of Eden is the main attraction in the region and is a listed among the new Seven Wonders of the World. This massive crater is home to over 25,000 animals. It is considered one of the best game viewing destinations in the world with a chance to see the Big Five, zebras and wildebeests.
The crater holds almost every individual species of wildlife in East Africa including the extremely rare and critically endangered black rhino. Enjoy picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending back to the lodge in time for an evening of relaxation and an optional visit to a local Masai village before dinner.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Home to Million Wildebeests
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park passing via Olduvai Gorge – a prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis (Handy man) regarded as mankind’s first step on the path of human evolution. Then proceed on a journey to Serengeti National Park in time for check-in and lunch at the lodge.
You will spend the afternoon at leisure until in the evening when you go for an evening game drive until dusk when you return to your camp for a bush dinner.

Day 7 – 8: Serengeti National Park | Witness The Migration Crossing
You will spend these two days exploring the vast savannah plains of Serengeti rich with wildlife. Explore the Northern region of Serengeti – The Seronera for an opportunity to see the annual wildebeest migration.
Serengeti National Park is the most famous park in Africa and the largest in Tanzania covering 14,736 square kilometers and is adjoining with the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. With a wildebeest population of about 2 million wildebeests and several other hoofed species which include zebra and Thomson’s gazelles and Grant’s gazelles. While on a Serengeti safari you will also see other animals including golden jackals, bat-eared foxes, elephants, cheetahs, hyenas among others.

Day 9: Masai Mara Game Reserve | Follow The Heard
After breakfast, you will depart for Masai Mara National Reserve with border crossing at the Isebania Border. After the border formalities and picnic lunches, you will be met by your Kenya guide for the drive to Masai Mara where you will arrive in time for an evening game drive en route to the lodge.

10 – 11: Masai Mara Game Reserve | Witness The Migration Action
You will have days exploring Masai Mara National Reserve known as the Jewel of Africa. The reserve is home to one of the largest and most spectacular animal migrations in the world. The reserve is inhabited by many of Africa’s most popular wild animals, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopard, black rhinos and hippos. The reserve is also home to over 500 resident species of birds including Ostrich, larks and sunbirds among others.

Day 12: Departure
After a delicious breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and depart for Nairobi by a domestic flight. Arrive in time for an early lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant.
After your breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and depart for Nairobi by flight in time for an early lunch at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant. Later you will be transferred back to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your departure flight for onward travel.
