Sirikoi Lodge

Sirikoi Lodge : Situated on the foothills of Mount Kenya, surrounded by the Lewa Conservancy – a World Heritage Site, Sirikoi Lodge is an intimate family-owned, eco-friendly safari lodge offering some of East Africa’s best viewing and exciting wildlife experiences.

This small, exquisite, family-owned lodge offers its guests an opportunity to step into a layered journey, one that immerses you in the untamed wilderness while quietly opening doors within yourself. Here, in the heart of Lewa Conservancy, you stand in a landscape shaped not only by nature, but by four decades of visionary conservation that have made it one of Africa’s most celebrated success stories.

Sirikoi Lodge is a more eco-chic African home than a tourist safari lodge, its owners who are also conservationists, Willie and Sue Roberts have poured their heart and soul into this award –winning property, creating a warm and unpretentious atmosphere with a real sense of luxury and high level of service.

Willie, a second – generation Kenyan, created his first safari lodge at the tender age of 19, with no architecture or design experience, just a strong intuition and great sense of style. Sirikoi Lodge positioned on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya is now his third property. Sue’s passion for botany has led to the creation of the organic vegetable garden and beautiful grounds, through which giraffe regularly wander, zebras graze close by, and herds of elephant troop past almost daily. The busy waterhole right in front of the main dining deck allows for excellent armchair game viewing, a defining feature of Sirikoi.

Beyond the armchair gazing, guests have prime game viewing on morning, evening and night drives through Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a 62,000 acre – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The conservancy is home to rare species unique to Northern Kenya, known as the special “Northern Five” – the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich, as well as many other endangered species such as the black and white rhinos. Frequent sightings of lions, leopards and cheetahs are also common.
