Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Amboseli National Park

To marks the start of your Kenya Safari, on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, you will meet your friendly tour guide who will inform you about the safari and what you should expect.

Embark on a journey to Amboseli National Park, which is a drive of five-hour drive from Nairobi. When you arrive in the park, check in at your lodge and enjoy refreshments and some rest. After lunch, you will head out for your first game drive in the famous landscape of Mount Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants. As the sun sets, gracing the landscape with its golden rays, you will head back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Amboseli Safari

Wake up to a sight of a glowing day, have an early breakfast and set off for an exploration day in Amboseli National Park. You will begin your day with a peaceful game drive, where you will get a chance to see the Big Five – lions, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos and leopards, plus a variety of diverse species.

After the thrilling game drive, you will later have another game drive in the afternoon and get an opportunity to explore the park’s stunning wildlife. As the night rolls in, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and a chat around a campfire.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

The day starts with an early breakfast before embarking on a six hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Once you check in at your lodge, you will rest and have some refreshments and relaxation before lunch.

In the late afternoon, you go on a thrilling game drive to spot flamingoes, rhinos, and a diverse array of wildlife species. As per your preference, you might visit Menengai Crater or other local attractions in the park. Later, return to your lodge, have dinner and rest.

Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

After a delicious breakfast, bid farewell to Lake Nakuru and embark on a five-hour drive to Masa Mara National Reserve. On arrival you will check in at your lodge, where you will enjoy your lunch before embark on an afternoon game drive.

During the game drive you will be able to see the majority of the reserve’s resident wildlife species like the lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more. Return to your camp when the sun starts to set, and enjoy dinner around the campfire before retiring to bed for the night.

Day 5: Full Day Masai Mara Safari

Wake up to the chirping birds around your room, enjoy an early breakfast and set off for a full day of exploration in the heart of Maasai Mara, where you will see various animals including the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes as well as other wildlife species including cheetahs, gazelles, wildebeests, elands, giraffes and several birds.

After a thrilling game drive, return to your camp for lunch and rest. Later, you will have another game drive in the afternoon and get a chance to explore the reserve’s stunning wildlife and landscape. As dusk falls, you will return to your camp for dinner with an optional Maasai cultural dance or campfire.

Day 6: Departure          

Today is the last day of your Kenya safari and in the savannah plains of Masai Mara National Reserve. Your day begins with an early game drive, taking advantage of the morning when the animals are at their most active. It is also the perfect opportunity to experience an enchanting sunrise over the short bush trees that dot the landscape, witnessing the magic of the savannah.

After the game drive, you return to the camp for a freshly served breakfast. Later check out of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Nairobi, offering you a last chance to soak in nature’s beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival, you can either be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
